On March 5, 2018 The East Meets West Gallery will present an exhibition “Pattern. Form. Material” at The All-Russian Decorative Art Museum.
The project involves the Museum’s Fabrics Department and the Wood and Bone Department, a private collection of sketches for industrial fabrics (croquis) produced at the Prokhorovskaya Trekhgornaya Manufactory in the mid-19th and early 20th centuries, and three contemporary artists: Alexander Yulikov, Tatyana Badanina and Elena Lvovskaya. The key leitmotiv is to uphold the fundamental connection of all kinds of art, despite the later division into painting, graphic arts, crafts, sculpture, photography and other new directions.
