The opening of the second international ecological art-project “The Power of Water” took place on March 22, 2012 at the Polytechnic Museum of Moscow
A number of the prominent officials and scientists which lead develop and carry out Russia and Moscow policy on Water spoke on the opening of the exhibition.
Among the speakers there were a member of the State Duma Committee for natural resources, nature management and ecology Alexander Fokin, first Deputy General Director of MGUP “Mosvodokanal” Konstantin Khrenov, honorary Professor of Moscow State University, academician, Chairman of the Section of Chemistry of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences, the UN expert on the issues of chemical safety Valery Petrosyan. On behalf of the artists and the international part of the participants spoke Tanya Paleeva, the curator of the project “Power of Water”, director of “The East Meets West Gallery”, and the artist and sculptor from Germany Hans Mendler.
The guests of the exhibition enjoyed a tour on three exhibition halls full of graphic art pieces, paintings and photography, as well as a video installation “Architecture of the Water, Metal and Stones” by Vladimir Nasedkin, video installation “Dirty Windows” and two video films “Garden of Love” and “Comma” by Michel Marang.
The second part the event was the short concert, given the professional musicians Michel Marang and Naomi Maki.
Michel Marang (The Netherlands) – is a creative director, composer and photographer. He performed on clarinet several contemporary musical pieces that will accompany a series of his B&W series of photos entitled “Water and Man”.
Naomi Maki of Japan is a live musician, singer, and composer. In addition to music career, she has a long passion for abstract painting. Naomi Maki performed her own compositions.
