On September 20, 2018 the EAST MEETS WEST GALLERY opens the second exhibition of the project “Music is everywhere” under the title “Variations on a Jazz Theme” at the Design Center ARTPLAY.

This exhibition could rightfully be called “Counterpoint”. After all, according to music terms that means “… a certain type of polyphony, characterized by a combination of developed and meaningful contrast melodies …” (Music Encyclopedic Dictionary edited by GV Keldysh, 1990).
Despite the narrow thematic focus, the exhibition demonstrates a fairly wide range of search and experiments by artists of different generations and different trends in Russian Art of today from images of direct representation to the character images, metaphysical transformers and other experiments with surface, color and material.
The group of artists includes: Vasily Vlasov, Mikhail Dronov, Vera Elnitskaya, Konstantin Inal-Ipa, Maria Kalmykova, Oleg Kievsky, Andrei and Timofei Korovin, Viktor Korneev, Alexei Lantsev, Karina Nazarova, Vladimir Pankratov, Vladimir Peldyakov, Maxim Protsenko, Natalia Sitnikova, Ivan Tarasyuk, Gennady Troshkov, Yevgeny Tsipulin, Olga Khan.
